It does amaze me that the consensus is that we need to listen to the biggest losers on the political spectrum in order to win. Centrists aren't winning much and when they do they don't do shit. Pick a side and stay there, for goodness sake.

Democrats have won more in the last decade than the most smug centrist. They can be safely ignored, along with their ideas about who we ought to throw under the bus.

Tom's ideas boil down to letting Republicans set the agenda across the board so that Democrats have to become Republicans to win. This idea of politics says that voters' views are immutable so being conservative is just common sense.

I think Democrats should be skeptical of politics advice from Republicans too feckless and impotent to stop their party being taken over by Trump.
