Eryth Sea is a vibe.

The worst thing about happiness is the dread that hangs over it; the knowledge that this feeling is temporary. All the excitement from the past two weeks of video game announcements was haunted by the sense that it would turn out to be Al slop or the studios would get shut down. It took no time.

Been thinking about what I want from Muramasa: Revenant Blades. I certainly would like to have the ability to fight the DLC bosses with Momohime and Kisuke, unlike in Rebirth. Kind of want extra story stuff, especially for the DLC characters, whose narratives were too short for my liking.

All I want from the new Blade and Hero in the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3 Nintendo Switch 2 Editions is some kind of tease for Genesis. I will be fine with whatever I get in the end, but I think that it would be a missed opportunity to not promote the next game with the new content in the old ones.

I know that it does not work narratively, but it is a shame that a Sword Valley race track was not added to the Xenoblade Chronicles upgrade. It seems suited for it. Not only does it have a lot of straightaways, but it has some decent stage hazards to throw players off course.

I have played through every single The Legend of Zelda game, my favorite series, at least twice. Played all 21 of them, no remasters, this past year. Ocarina of Time is one of my most played games of all time. I am down for a remake. I think that it will have more to offer than just new graphics.

The Nintendo Direct was so tailored towards me specifically that I was having difficulty processing it all. I am beyond excited. I never expected a new Xenoblade so soon. The Muramasa remaster is a nice surprise. Fire Emblem is right around the corner. The Legend of Zelda is this year. Man. Wow.

It might not be a new Zelda, but I will take a remake. Getting my new Xenoblade and remasters of every game. Dungeon Meshi season two looks like it is getting news July 4. Honestly, I am ascending.

If you want a beautiful, fast-paced action RPG, do not sleep on Muramasa. It has a Metroidvania style map but straightforward progression, so there is minimal backtracking with freedom to explore. Plus, the music is gorgeous. If you enjoyed Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir, this might be a game for you.

The Persona 6 teaser trailer may be just a logo and a handful of cryptic nonsense, but some YouTuber is likely already elbow deep into hyper analyzing every frame and spoiling the entire plot for themselves.

Not going to lie. The main reason that I am excited about the job system in Final Fantasy VII Revelation is being able to see everyone dressed up in all kinds of outfits. Tifa will look good in anything. Gameplay is going to be secondary. I am a simple man.

A lot of people are voicing their thoughts on the Switch 2's first year. My turn. I love my Switch 2, but yeah, the game-key card thing is dumb as ever. I never bought a single one, and I never will. There are a few amazing exclusives, and I have hope for the future. The pro controller is excellent.

Been thinking about Dungeon Meshi season two, wondering how Trigger is going to start it off. They could do what some series do and add anime original content to get us reintroduced to the cast after the long break. However, I think it would be much funnier if they stick to the source material.

Just watched Milky Subway: The Galactic Limited Express on Netflix. It was essentially anime Breakfast Club in space. It was cute and funny with a bunch of witty banter. It was short enough that it did not overstay its welcome. Very predictable most of the time, but I am not bothered by that.

Beat Xenogears. It is easy to see how this was the foundation for every Xeno game that would follow. Before ever playing, I have heard about the many parallels to Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but its foundation is clearly seen in that entire series, especially in its rejection of pessimistic nihilism.

Imagine, if you will, fighting for your life in a public restroom, and Grahf from Xenogears peaks between the cracks in the stall door and asks, "Doth thou desire the power?"

In Xenogears, most of your enemies graciously accept defeat when you best them. On the other hand, there is one guy in particular, Ramsus, whose superiors call him trash to his face, that is like the embodiment of this dril post.

Star Fox Zero was a reimagining of Star Fox 64, but even 64 was a reimagining of the original Star Fox on the SNES. With inclusion of Star Fox 64 3D and the new Switch 2 Star Fox, Nintendo made the same game five times in a sense. Star Fox 2, Adventures, Assault, and Command are the only sequels.

Changed my Discord name to Temu Albert Wesker a while back because of a quip my brother made while I was playing Resident Evil Requiem, and it only gets funnier after you have beaten the game.

I think that a combination of a new Zelda, a new Xenoblade, and Dungeon Meshi season two would fix me.

I like green-haired Terra Branford of Final Fantasy VI best, and I wish that Square Enix treated her like the canon version instead of the blonde Terra in a mostly blonde cast of characters. The green hair sets Terra apart, which makes sense because she is different from everyone else in that world.

RE9 spoiler. It was generous of Leon to give his best gun to this twiggy woman who could dislocate her entire shoulder from firing it. Heavy burden to bear for someone who never considered that she could just simply parry the head-devouring monster rather than allow herself to be eaten. Silly lady.

Got the platinum in Resident Evil Requiem. Excellent game. Slight spoilers, but it reminded me a lot of RE4, except the blonde girl Leon is trying to save can mostly handle herself. I am glad that it never became a huge escort mission. The one time it did, Grace had a really good excuse: Emily.

I had a goal of playing through all 21 mainline Zelda games this year to celebrate the 40th anniversary. I started back in the middle of January, and I just completed the final one with Echoes of Wisdom. I have most of them memorized front to back, so it did not take as long as I thought it would.

One detail about Xenoblade Chronicles 2 that I wished they explored more was how Drivers can awaken Blades that look like them, with certain personality traits imprinted on them. It serves certain plot points, but we never get rare blades specific to the playable characters aside from the main ones.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, or as its acronym is shortened to when I smash my keyboard, XCXDENS2E.

I am glad that Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition got a Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade. Given that it was the most recent release, it was the game in the series that made the most sense to receive this treatment, but I already put in the time last year. It would be a while before I revisit it.

It is a shame that the Switch 2's GameCube titles do not have the GBA connectivity support. I even have the means of hooking all that stuff up to it.
