As artists we often HAVE to post our work to engage our audience, but we don't always have the wherewithal to also provide a detailed explanation of the art. It can prevent us from posting because while the art is finished, the Alt text can be another mountain to climb. Don't be an ass, is all.

What do a fantasy illustrator, a comic book artist and an animator all have in common? From the 3 separate posts I've seen here *this morning alone*, they all need day jobs (or breadwinning partners). It sucks that we can't do what we trained to without being ground down to burnout.

Very, very few comic book creators can survive on just the money they make from comics. It is an inherently unstable job and it is only getting worse as time goes on. Don't ever be embarrassed or ashamed of needing another job so that you can keep making comics.
