Sloppy but #morningchords

Been having this issue for so long on one of the web sites I manage. Whenever the (c) appears it converts it to the copyright symbol. I thought it was a rendering issue or autocorrect - which happens in a lot of programs. It came down to fonts, had never heard of font-variant-ligatures until today.
