I met with Eddie Crouch, Chair of the British Dental Association, to discuss the NHS dental crisis nationally, and locally. Practices across Derbyshire Dales are closing their NHS lists, or going fully private, leaving many residents unable to access routine care. #NHSdentistry

From sorting out council tax issues to fixing a Google Maps error, I'm proud to be helping residents across Derbyshire Dales with the problems that matter to them.

Last week was an exceptionally busy one as your MP. Here’s a snapshot of what I got up to.

Yesterday, in a Westminster Hall debate on Theft of Tools of Trade Sentencing, I raised a serious concern affecting too many farmers and tradespeople across Derbyshire Dales. The theft of tools of trade, including high-tech farming equipment like GPS systems, is on the rise.

I strongly welcome the Government’s announcement to ban bottom trawling in 41 of the UK’s Marine Protected Areas (MPA). This follows important recommendations from the cross-party Environmental Audit Committee and is a vital step in safeguarding our seabed and marine biodiversity.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Deep Dale Nature Reserve along with local farmers and the fantastic team at Plantlife, the wild plant conservation charity, to learn more about how nature and farming can thrive together.

Thanks to this Labour Government’s landmark policy, up to 2,230 more school children in our constituency will receive free school meals as a part of a national expansion benefitting over 500,000 children across England. #FreeSchoolMeals #LabourDelivers #DerbyshireDales

Today I represented over 850 of my constituents who wrote to me asking to represent them in support of the Terminally Ill Adults Bill. I have been deeply moved by the personal stories people have shared with me, including my constituent Mick, who joined us in the public gallery.

I met with Steve Reed MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, to discuss tackling fly-tipping, which is a blight on our countryside. I welcome this Government’s plan to give councils the power to seize and crush vehicles used in fly-tipping.

For a long time, fly-tipping has blighted our countryside and our communities. Now, it’s time for action. I spoke with Labour’s Environment Secretary, Steve Reed MP, about the growing problem of fly-tipping here in Derbyshire Dales.
