Not a lot of people know that I am indeed a dog lover. I've had this guy for years and years and years. In fact, I adopted him after a road trip to Boston about 20 years ago. His name is Testicles. And if I shared a different photo of him, you'd understand the reason behind the name. BOING!!!!!!!

When I was taking a photography course at Delta College, the assignment was to Go Find Someone or Something Unusual to photograph. I knew an old guy who thought he was the reincarnation of Dracula. He lived in a large stone house south of Maple Valley, MI. This is what came from the shoot.

39 years ago, April 27, 1987, at 3:00am, I smoked the last Marlboro from the 2nd pack of Marlboros I had purchased at 5:00pm on Sunday April, 26,1987. I have now gone 14,245 days without a cigarette. That’s 341,896 hours ago in human hours. I occasionally still want one. But, I’ll just wait.

Once upon a time, every small and medium-sized town had a Bonanza or a Ponderosa steakhouse where the family could unwind with a pretty good steak dinner. Today, only 12 Ponderosa Steakhouse locations remain in the U.S. This is the Ponderosa in Greenville, MI. It served Greenville for 30 years.

Oh Oh. It appears that Texas may be in for some serious troubles. Cowboy Bob Gray, aka Pennywise the Dancing Cowboy Clown, was recently spotted attending the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo in Fort Worth, TX. This photo was taken at Dickies Arena. Trouble is brewing folks. Be alert. Be prepared.

It's a little-known fact that when aka Bob Gray, aka Pennywise the Dancing Clown, landed in Derry, ME a millennium ago, he was required to apply for and be issued a passport. Through diligent interweb research, I have managed to find the original Passport Photo. And the legend was born.

Four memorable buildings from my childhood. Like me, they are old. Like me, they are still standing. The Houghton Lake Playhouse. The Junior High School. The original airport. We used to drag race on snowmobiles on the runway in the winter. The original all-grades school.

Then there was the time I ran into Batman at the Redwood National Park while I was trying to learn how to use my first Hasselblad camera. He was kind enough to allow me to photograph him in front of one of the felled Giant Redwoods. It was a long exposure...that's why there's some motion blur.

Crazy night last night. I don't often go out to bars. But last night was special, so I was talked into going to a sports bar with friends to have drinks. There was a lady there who got her nipple pierced. I apologized and explained that I really suck at darts.

I was saddened to learn this morning of the passing of a member of the HLHS Super-Class of 1975. As the saying goes, John Voelker was one of the good ones. A Good friend. A Good Husband. A Good father. A Good gramps. A Good man. He will be missed. We All Shine On...

The weekend read. It’s the first book in the “Cold Case Quartet”. The main protagonist is William Wisting, the lead police investigator in the town of Larvik Norway. Author Jørn Lier Horst has written about Wisting in a total of 13 novels. Looking forward to reading about Norway detective work.
