Hi friends, an important update on the cute white/orange kitten. For the last several days, we’ve been unable to trap the kitten (came close once). The kitten looks ok. Then this week I learned that I’ll need to travel for work (soon) for a few days per week.

This week, I had two superlative & productive doctor appts. I’m in an uber happy mood, so much so that I couldn’t resist making a random selfie *and* posting it. 😃

Chance favors the prepared mind.

After sitting in the foyer for 30 minutes, under calm and more ‘controlled’ conditions, my BP is good: 112/70 mm Hg — a tad higher than my home BP, but not unexpected. The key point is that my office BP was not exaggerated and will give my doctor an accurate representation of my health.

Just arrived for another medical appt. One full hour in advance. 🙂

Another good reason: ✅ To allow an accurate (and reassuring) blood pressure (BP) measurement. The stress of driving, finding parking, and the appt itself can exert an elevating effect on BP. Thus, allotting ample time to relax in the foyer can have a soothing effect on the adrenaline response.

Before he exited service in 2023, we could only hope that the honorable General Mark Milley — fmr. Chair of the JCS and an American patriot — had personally reached out to all his commanders worldwide to warn them of the dangers of Trumpism. Based on today's events, he did. @denverr.bsky.social

Update on my journey with osteoporosis. I was unable to make timely appt with a specialist at Yale-New Haven Hospital. So, today I met with a local Endocrinologist with a special interest in bone metabolism disorders.

When one goes to a clinic to see a health care professional, it’s not all about you. Think about it…

𝗣𝗿𝗼-𝘁𝗶𝗽: Ever since I had a health scare in the mid-2000’s, I’ve been carrying a USB flash drive that contains key medical records (medication allergies, medication list, active medical problems, lab reports, radiology reports, next of kin, organ donation). Similar to a medical ID bracelet.

Decent outing today with physical fitness. Tmrw, I’ll strive for more steps. 🏃🏻

Recently, I got this nifty clip-on pedometer. Steps & a reset button — no bells or whistles. A nice adjunct to my Fitbit watch, which cannot be manually reset.

A brief dive into self-awareness is satisfying.

After my morning jog, I walked to the grocery store to pick up berries & yogurt for breakfast. Instead of the urban sound of busy traffic on a nearby street, I heard the roar of the ocean 🌊 greeting the shore. Augmented by the sound of gulls, the scent of brine, & the warmth of sun 🌞 on my face.

The weather is cooling down here in SAT, allowing for an enjoyable morning jog again under lovely temperatures (low 70s). 😎

So tiny, so vulnerable. 🐱🧡🤍 Three weeks old, or so. 🥹Based on the kitten's markings and features, a baby boy. He's thin, but otherwise looks ok. No injuries. No limping. His eyes look healthy. No scratching behavior. Vigilant. A survivor. 🙏🏼

Hi friends, update: today my friend and I got as close as we could to this adorable kitten 🐱🧡🤍, but no luck. We did trap one of four adult cats in this mini-colony, but not this sweet kitten. This sweetie is in fight-or-flight mode (as expected for a feral). We released the adult cat.

Hi friends, an update on the orange/white 🧡🤍 kitten 🐈 in the urban wild. Last night, my friends were not able to capture the kitten. The kitten looks ok. Apparently, the kitten is from the same area that my sweet girl Coco 🐱 is from. Tomorrow morning, I'm going to lend a helping hand. ☺️

I've long considered 'term limits' in the US Congress to be an invaluable guard rail in civics to not only protect voters from self-serving politicians, but more so to protect voters from themselves.

Hi friends, an update on the orange/white kitten. 🧡🤍🐱 Past midnight, one of my friends spotted the kitten, but he was unable to entice the kitten out. On Saturday morning, I'll be out there to help. Please, stay tuned.

Over the weekend, I noticed that Coco's two golden spots 🧡🧡 on her neck/back have white fur 🤍 growing into them. I wonder if over time those spots will gradually fade. On the video below, you can see the subtleness of the change. 🙂

Hi friends, I just wrapped up work tonight. No new updates on the sweet orange/white kitten I want to bring home. Earlier today, my friends assured me they’ll try to bring in the kitten and foster until I can pick him up next Sat. Naturally, I’m worried. Here’s another photo of this cutie. 🧡

Ok, I've decided to bring this kitten home (presumed boy, not sure yet). I can't allow this vulnerable baby to continue to be out there. It's the right thing to do. Plus, I do believe Coco would enjoy having a companion. 😸

Two of my former patients who cared for Coco in her early life on the streets before I discovered her sent me this photo of this baby boy — also living on the streets. Last week, reportedly he got stuck in a drain but was freed by city workers. My heart… I may bring this baby home. 🧡
