I finished my Green Lantern read through! I was a lot of fun in the end, and really only cemented my love of Kyle Rayner. Seeing him grow from this perpetually horny fledgling Lantern into one of the best was such a fun read. The whole journey was a lot of fun, and I would greatly recommend it!

Today’s #September_RainOfComicArt theme is something everyone should see, so I’m gonna do a double post again. This first one if from the current Moon Knight run, and it was just so fucking cool, and the art was so amazing, I wanted to share it

For the last few years I’ve been doing character reads, meaning I pick one character or team and then read through all their bibliography. I’ve done X-Men, Daredevil, Moon Knight, the Ultimate Universe, Spider-man, and I am currently on Green Lantern.

Today’s #September_RainOfComicArt theme is celebrating women, and I’ve seen posts about both characters and creators. So I figured I’d do a little of both! Here are four of my favorite female characters being published right now, drawn by female creators, Jen Bartel and Jenny Frison!

I keep forgetting to say something about this, but can I list say I’ve really been enjoying the current Emma Frost series by @amychu.bsky.social and @andreadivito.bsky.social? The story has been a lot of fun, and Emma has been a great villainous protagonist!

Weirdly enough, my favorite crossover is less a crossover and more an expanded story arc. But for today’s #September_RainOfComicArt I want to highlight Spider Island. It was the first event I collected in full, and I loved pretty much everything about it. It brought Pete and MJ closer (cont)

I always found it funny during the Krakoa Era of X-Men when I saw a near constant bashing of the school. It baffled me, because for today’s #September_RainOfComicArt I want to highlight my favorite era of X-Men, which completely revolved around the school. I will always miss this era.

Oops, missed a day. I know it’s much more an anime thing than a manga thing, but for yesterday’s #September_RainOfComicArt you really can’t top the Gundam franchise when it comes to mecha.

I’m going for a twofer for today’s #September_RainOfComicArt. So to start: Display of magic? More like display of Magik! But joke’s aside, my favorite comics spellcaster has always been Zatanna. The simple, but visually fun, way she casts spells has always been so cool!

I’m catching up on my pulls from the last couple weeks, specifically Imperial War: Nova Centurion in this case, and while I don’t particularly care about the Inhumans, seeing Karnak again reminded me how fucking cool he is.

lol, fucked up my hashtag yesterday. Anyway, today’s #September_RainOfComicArt will highlight my favorite alternate Spidey costume, the Big Time/Stealth Suit, first seen in ASM #650. I love the Tron aesthetic, the lines, and just the visual pop of it. Pete has lots of costumes, and this is the best!

For today’s #September_RainOfComicArti wanted to highlight one of my favorite aliens at DC, Starfire. (Shut up gooners, that’s not the only reason someone can like her.) I have always loved her interactions on the Teen Titans, and her solo series drawn by Emanuela Lupacchino is a favorite of mine.

Again, never really read Red Sonja either. But, much like yesterday’s crossover, today’s #September_RainOfComicArt is about the one Red Sonja comic I’ve read. It is, of course, the Spider-man & Red Sonja crossover where she possesses Mary Jane!

I have never, not once in my life, read a Conan comic. It’s not out of distaste for the character or anything, it’s just never been my jam. So for today’s #September_RainOfComicArt, remember when they made him an Avenger? Wild shit man.

I’ve talked about my favorite character at DC enough, so let’s shift to my second favorite at Marvel. Today’s #September_RainOfComicArt is the best there is at what she does, though in this image it’s less that and more trying to live up to her dad’s legacy. Anyway, Laura is best Wolverine.

For today’s #September_RainOfComicArt I knew exactly what I would be posting. One of my favorite Ghost Rider moments was during Jason Aaron’s run in the late 2000s where we learned about the other Riders throughout the years. I had so much fun with that, especially Knuckles. Love that run!

I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest Kirby-head. I always struggle reading older comics. So for today’s #September_RainOfComicArt I just want to take a second to respect the sheer output of the man. So many of Marvel’s biggest characters were created with Kirby’s hand, and that should never be undersold

While yesterday had too few options, today has too many. And while I recognize the intent of today’s #September_RainOfComicArt, this scene from Action Comics (2016) #1057 is what it means when Superman saves someone. It’s not just that in the moment rescue, it’s that he cares beyond that moment.

I kinda struggled with the prompt for #September_RainOfComicArt. I could think of a bunch of panels of heroes brooding in the rain, but villains? So it might be basic, and I’m sure I won’t be alone, but have some Joker monologuing in The Killing Joke.

For today’s #September_RainOfComicArt I wanted to highlight FF700. I won’t say what happens in the issue (ya gotta read it) but suffice it to say, I was not expecting that reveal, even given how simple it seemed it retrospect. By far my favorite issue of the Fantastic Four

My favorite character at DC, and an easy top 3 overall is Tim Drake. His wit, skill, and drive have always made him my favorite. So for today’s #September_RainOfComicArt I wanted to highlight Tim using the cover from Red Robin #6, which was my phone background for the longest time.

I’ve never been the biggest Hulk fan, but the Grek Pak era, from Planet Hulk onwards, was such a moment. So for Day Two of #September_RainOfComicArt I want to highlight the time Hulk and his Warbound teamed up to kick the shit out of the Illuminati, who got exactly what they deserved.

For the first day of #September_RainOfComicArt I want to include probably my favorite page from any Spidey comic I’ve read. There’s just something about the immediate recognition on Gobby’s part that tickles me pink.

Ugh! I keep seeing posts about all the new stuff from Pathfinder and Starfinder, so i got all excited to take a look myself, but I forgot they stagger the digital and physical releases! So now I have to sit in my own lament for another 6 days.

I’m reading through Green Lantern right now, and as part of that I’m reading a lot of Justice League, cuz there’s always at least one GL in the League, and can I just say: I forgot how much I love the way Doug Mahnke draws Wonder Woman.

My LCS had to hard pivot after Diamond announced they were shuttering Pullbox the other day, and they decided to move to League of Comic Geeks. Since I had the time today, I figured I'd log all the comics I've been reading the last few years in my character dives.

Finally got around to reading the Runaways mini by @rainbowrowell.bsky.social from the One World Under Doom crossover. I have really missed their take on the characters since the books ended, and this first issue really felt like coming home. Marvel? If you’re listening, we want more of this.

Damn. I know he’d had health problems in the last decade, but this is till sad news. While aspects of the run have soured in recent years, his X-Factor Investigations run was a major reason I got invested in comics.
