Tested OpenCode vs Claude Code: Claude wrote better code, 2× faster, 30% cheaper I asked both to implement the same plan: - Claude: 14 min, ~191k tokens - OpenCode: 27 min, ~278k tokens Quality was close (and good), Claude slightly better overall.

Trying OpenCode: - incompatible with Warp, had to switch to Ghostty 👎 - migration from Claude Code sucks, nothing automatic - the UX is great 👍 (lost some Warp shortcuts though) - no Claude Code web 👎 Total migration time: ~3 hours 😢 Now testing "is it actually better than CC?"

Claude Code users (especially Laravel/Symfony): you REALLY want to re-install Claude Latest Claude versions will load your `.env` (including secrets!) into Claude Code. Claude then runs your tests with local config instead of testing config!

A common mistake with migrations to Bref is setting AWS access keys in env variables. That's not needed: AWS Lambda automatically provides access keys. It's more secure as these creds are granular, temporary, and rotated. Documented that in a new page: bref.sh/docs/enviro...

Tried GPT5 instead of Claude Code (via Conductor by @charliebholtz), it takes forever. Last attempt at a simple task (add a model to Laravel Nova): - GPT5 took 17 min (~$1) and didn't finish (rate limit error) - Claude took 3 min, made one small mistake (fixed), and it's working

I wish "Actions" and "Jobs" were the same thing/in the same directory (in Laravel). The only diff is that one runs async, but both are actions. It's confusing having to search for logic in either directory depending on "how it runs".

Tried using Cursor again today. Still all over the place, ignoring rules, gets 70% of the job done. Also tried Cursor background agents (runs in cloud): same task, twice slower, worse results 🤷 Back to Jetbrains Junie, it's just much more reliable.
