Today was the Pugwash Ted Talk event (the first was in 2024). It was a great mix of speakers (young and old) talking about peace. It was held at the high school—the first school in Canada to declare itself a nuclear-free zone. All in all, a very rich (&very Pugwash) afternoon!

Today marks the 2nd anniversary of removing anti‑LGBTQ language from The UMC Book of Discipline. I hold gratitude for liberation—and grief for those who didn’t live to see it. May no child of God ever doubt their belovedness because of the Church’s—or society’s—myopia

The Pugwash Hallmark Christmas movie had its grand finale: a community wide Christmas dinner. Our village of 700 pulled out all the stops. 40 volunteers came 2 the “peeling party” to peel, slice & dice. On Christmas, more than 200 folks came for supper w/ another 40+ volunteers helping serve & clean

The sauce for Christmas Eve pasta is simmering, the tree lights are twinkling, carols are playing in the background, & I’m holding a warm cup of tea. For just this moment, all is right with the world In the midst of these hectic days, may you savour moments of comfort & joy as Christmas approaches
