A tea + coffee date with somebody new is like one of my favorite things to do in winter

This app terribly needs simple features (finding mutuals, trending topics, news etc) to be a serious social networking space for casual users expdusing from the Other App™️. Otherwise it’ll stay as a great curatorial tool with a more niche user base.

Yesterday at #thepeoplesbookclub we held such fragrant intergenerational conversations over tea with art.

I didn’t leave & doubt this app is a real alternative. Bluesky strikes me as a space for journalists & “specialists” (domain feature, neoliberal politics, custom feed feature) —not just everyday social networking. Think it speaks to the *professionalization of just existing under capitalism 🧵
