A mild snort in response. Saffire's rousing, heroic speeches were appreciated, but his partner believed the Digimon's mouth would be served better in making sure air would be pumped to the lungs and muscles that needed them for this last stretch! The round then drew to a close, with a near perfect+

Sanban frowned briefly at Saff losing his combo, and having to rebuild it. It wasn't the variant's fault; the equipment just wasn't made for feet his size. In fact...if Tre was more the size of a typical Triceraton bull, he would be experiencing similar difficulties. Another rare instance were+

"I recognize the game it hails from, at least," he rolled his frilled head once, and readied himself for the next one. The duo were then at it again, dancing together. The crowd delighting in the two's performance. One girl declaring "the next tournament really needs Digimon like these two!".+

There were smiles among those assembled. A few shouts of "もう一度" can be heard. "...alright." The agent relented and inserted his his card again, to the delight of the crowd. "Let us go for this one..." He smirked, selecting "Burning Heat! (3 Option Mix)" a remix of a song from "Gradius II".

That...was not bad. More like a decent warm up that was a refresher on footwork. "...First song?" He asked, turning to Saff, before he then looked to the crowd that had formed around them. "Oh, my..."

"Eyes forward," he said calmly, still very much focused. "Let the ball of your foot do the majority of the work." His feet moved as if it was just another training drill exercise or martial arts form he was seeking to master. And after a big finish...the course was complete!

Sanban calmly tuned out the crowd that was rolling over from the tournament a few aisles over. He was focused on doing his best, and helping Saff do the same. For after all, even if it was through unorthodox in means, the two were indeed "dancing together".

"Heard of, never seriously looked into and, thus, never played before tonight!" He said, without missing a beat. "The last section will be picking up in exactly five seconds. Take care!" Sanban added as an additional warning.

"Oh...?" Sanban raised a ridge above an eye in interest. "I will be most interested in seeing you, as they say, 'work it', then." Meanwhile, the agent was already proving himself adept with moving his feet to match the arrows on screen. His observations from the other players paid off. Albeit+

He nodded in approval as the digital being performed his stretches. "Very good. But do not do so just to show off for me!" Sanban chuckled. "The most important thing is to be effective. Or at least, you do not want to overdo it before you even get started with the actual activity."

"Alright..." He used his own card in order to give them both a play for this round. Afterward, he did some quick stretches in place. "I observed enough from the others' movements. I believe I am ready. You can choose the song, as soon as you are."

He quickly looked down at Saff's feet. Truth be told, the concern of if the equipment could support him was still valid. The saurian, having a denser bone and muscle structure than the average human, was not immune to this concern, either. But the digital being looked so eager to try, Sanban+

"Hmmm..." He observed the next round of the tournament play out. And as the dragon stated, the nature of the game meant that staying in rhythm, and keeping the "combo" score high, all as the songs got more intense, meant that these players needed to have decent aerobics to go along with their-

"A dance battle? I am familiar with how some cultures utilized dance as a means to demonstrate strength and stave off the need for physical conflict." He looked at the ones dancing like maniacs in front of a machine. "...but this? They are merely following the instructions on screen."

"...you still wish to venture inside?" Sanban asked as he peered in. "Appears to be some type of...tournament of some sort, on at least one of the floors. I can sense the competitive energies from here."

...well. Sometimes the simplest answer could be the one right under your beak. "True indeed. Those 'portals' of yours even allow you to travel around the world with relative ease. An angle to pursue later, definitely!"

"Hmm! Well, I suppose the long way to go about it would be to use my abilities to track down their brainwave patterns. Of course, given the upwards of 8 billion human lives on this planet, let alone other life forms...such a feat would take me a good while to narrow down your progenitor."

"And that much is definitely from the gargoyle data you inherited, yes? Fascinating. That this world has...or had such beings in its history, with such a particularly distinct adaptation as part of its evolution, is indeed something I would love to explore further."

"Alright. Just so long as nobody is looking to your favorite 'sensei' as a reason for you being derelict in your duties." A snort-chuckle as he took in the night. The city was still very busy. Sanban guessed this place didn't really "sleep", either.

"As much as I am enjoying this time we sharing...you do not have any responsibilities to prepare for in the morning?" Sanban asked. He then added a knowing smile. "I will not have you performing at less than your best as a DSG agent."

Suitably impressed by the meal, he gave a polite bow to chef and staff, then followed Saffire as they started the journey home. "The weather remains on our side."

"In that last case, I will have to take your word on it." He silently slurped his last few noodles. With his beak, it really made the link between his kind and avians much more apparent! After he finished downing as much of the broth he could, the saurian spoke again. "...ご馳走さまでした."

"That would explain why you barely react to the seasonings..." Sanban said, amid a few gulps of water. "I do enjoy this, though. They are not trying to set your maw on fire for no good reason."

The dish lived up to Saff's claim. It was indeed spicy. The heat just a bit above his usual comfort zone. But it was at least still very flavorful, and more important, quite tasty. A far cry from that one variant of the Instant Ramen that he tried with another... "...mm. The mushrooms add to the-

"It looks delightful..." Sanban said, as he readied his chopsticks. Even though he was still a fairly new visitor to Saff's home, it appeared chopstick handling was something the agent was already familiar with. "I believe the appropriate saying is 'いただきます'."

"...what?" Sanban then chuckled lightly, as Saff explained further. First tornadoes with sharks, now invasive aliens that forcefully indoctrinate minds by downloading an entire culture's history into the minds of others. What interesting storytellers, these humans! "Oh, no...not at all! I was-

"Hmm." He nodded as Saff explained. It seemed there were still numerous mysteries surrounding the circumstances around Saff's "rebirth". Little wonder why the two hit it off so well, Sanban thought. He certainly had his own longstanding concerns with his own background. The saurian was snapped-

"Interesting...I wonder if you having to learn the language through more...'ad-hoc' means is because of your reformation and mutation, then?" He looked over to some of the other patrons and servers, who were Digimon themselves. "Just a curiosity, for now..."

A smile as he awaited their bowls. "So...how does your knowledge of the human's tongues work, for that matter? Was it because of your initial bond to your original partner, or does the Digital World provide what you need, as if from a central server repository?"

He nodded, taking Saff's suggestion to heart. "Alright...I think I will take up your advice, and see about this 'spicy tofu miso' dish. I have at least tried tofu before."

Sanban was indeed taking in all the sights. "Yes...they fit quite a lot into this island nation in an efficient, yet very beatific way." As they sat down, he peered over the menu options. Some of which were listed on a white board. "Hm. Shoyu or Miso...?"
