My ongoing gamedev side quest is to see how many games I can make that do not feature a currency system. They are obviously very effective for many reasons, I just feel like they put a damper on creativity for coming up with other kinds of reward systems.

We're super excited for SPELLHACK to drop next week! 🎥 🎮 💥 We've been fans of @computer-dream.bsky.social since PlayNYC! Innovative games like SPELLHACK keep us inspired to keep improving the Turbo engine and make new and exciting games possible.

Haven't seen many devs take advantage of this. While you wait to be eligible for a Steam Deck compatibility check from Valve (if you ever get one), you can link to an announcement and have it show up as clickable "Developer Comments" under the "Unknown" compatibility box.

HUGE thanks to @thegamedoctor.bsky.social for the seminar! Can't overstate how helpful it is to have someone removed from a project swoop in and take a critical, thoughtful look.
