I am frustrated and deeply disappointed by the decision to close SCI Rockview. Harrisburg bureaucrats ignored clear evidence that Rockview is one of the state’s best-performing institutions in the entire state.

I’m proud to share that my bill, HB 1667, passed the PA House today with overwhelming bipartisan support. This bill unlocks $50 million in private investment through the Rural Jobs Investment Tax Credit – helping rural businesses expand, create jobs, and strengthen our communities.

I will always stand up for unions and worker rights, including the right of Penn State graduate students to freely organize and vote on whether to form a local chapter of @uaw.org.

Yesterday, I joined Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) and UGI Energy Services (UGIES) for the launch of their new initiative to power existing buses with renewable natural gas!

I could not disagree more with the DOC and the Governor on the final decision to close Rockview and Quehanna. This is the wrong decision, at the wrong time, and for the wrong reasons.

Last week, I had the pleasure of touring the Centre County 4-H Robotics education facility in College Township. It was wonderful to learn more about this volunteer-driven organization and to meet some of their remarkable students.

Yesterday, I joined the Centre Co. Commissioners, row officers, and of course, the Grange Fair Queens and Dairy Princess to help hand out over 1,000 cups of Penn State Creamery ice cream to hundreds of fairgoers on Kids Day - an event I’ve always looked forward to since my own kids were little!🍦

The last couple of weeks have been action-packed! My team and I hosted and attended so many community events, from a @padempolicy.bsky.social tour at CENTROID CNC to my election as Chair of the Rural Population Revitalization Commission.

Yesterday, I was happy to welcome the PA House Majority Policy Committee to CENTROID CNC, a leader in advanced computer controllers for manufacturing right here in Milesburg. The small but mighty team at CENTROID is proof that rural Pennsylvania entrepreneurs can compete in the global economy.

Our Back to School Drive was a huge success! Thanks to the support from our community & partners at the YMCA of Centre County, we helped hundreds of students get the free supplies they need for the school year. Not to mention the cookout & slushees courtesy of GIANT, Wegmans, & Sunset Slush.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our second annual Senior Resource Fair at Centre Care! It was wonderful to connect with so many folks and share information on resources and services in our area. I'm grateful to our partners and vendors who helped make the event a success.

Yesterday, more than two weeks past the constitutional deadline to pass a state budget, House Democrats led the bipartisan passage of the bill to move the process forward. For nearly eight weeks, the House has been in Harrisburg, working hard on the budget. Sadly, the Republican-led Senate has not.

Yesterday I was proud to stand w/ legislators & stakeholders as Gov. Shapiro signed the repeal of PA's centuries-old ban on Sunday hunting. This is a historic change that will benefit hunters, farmers, and conservation efforts, and boost small businesses and rural communities.

I am proud to support the resolution urging the PA Dept of Corrections to reconsider the proposed closures of SCI Rockview and Quehanna Boot Camp. Although they do not carry the weight of law, resolutions reflect our values and what we believe is important.

Yesterday, the PA House unanimously passed my bill, H.B. 1424 to help keep camping affordable. Like many of you, I have great childhood memories of family camping trips and believe we should do all we can to keep the great outdoors within reach for more Pennsylvanians. Now, it’s off to the Senate!⛺🌲

Today, I joined my House Democratic colleagues to speak out against the Big Betrayal Bill signed into law last week by President Trump. It is a cynical, dangerous, and direct attack on poor and working Americans and will have devastating consequences for Pennsylvania.
