Tomo helps us evade the futility record for slowest #bm100 loop 2 split by just over a minute and has over 15 hours on a mostly daylight loop to get the Fun Run. I still like his chances!

Some #bm100 futility records... 2006 - No fun runs. 5 runners finished under the loop 2 cutoff with a top time of 24:34. 2021- 2 fun runs. 2 runners finished under the loop 2 cutoff at 24:32 apiece. Can we get there this year???

Despite speculation from some that course changes could have made CCW easier relative to CW, I have on good authority that the #bm100 really is uphill both ways.

22 hours on the clock and about 12:15 into loop 2. They’ll have to finish and get it turned around in the next little while if they want to keep this competitive, but realistically we’re pushing for Fun Runs now. #bm100

Smallest number of loop 1 finishers ever (or at least this century) - usually it’s at least twice that many. Despite good conditions on a mostly daylight loop. I’ll be fascinated to hear the reports! #bm100

Let’s talk loop 2…the slowest loop 2 split to ever finish was 21:13 (but actually finished with 90+ minutes to spare). Usually 20 hours is the neighborhood you want to be in. Possible? Technically. But an ~11 hour dark loop after a 9:45 opening daylight loop? I think 22-23hrs is more likely. #bm100

Let’s look at the historical late start data (say 10am or later)… 2009 - 10:53 (Andrew Thompson the only finisher in 57:37) 2015 - 11:23 No finishers 2016 - 10:42 (Jared Campbell the only finisher in 59:32) Doable but challenging. But that’s #bm100 in a nutshell isn’t it?

This would be (to my knowledge) the latest start in #bm100 history. The late start comes with its own unique challenges including near total darkness for loop 2 and the critical loop 4, along with likely a dark loop 5 finish.

Well either we’re looking at one of the latest starts in #bm100 history or Keith pulled a fast one and our first update will be how Very Daring Shorts guy blitzed loop 3 in 29 hours and created his own testicle spectacle after an unfortunate briar incident!
