Twenty-five years ago today, 60,000 union members and allies — including members of UE Locals 221, 506 and 1172, and current Director of Organization Kimberly Lawson — participated in a massive march in Quebec City against the proposed Free Trade Area of the Americas, or FTAA.

UE Local 667 members attended a rally on March 6 in Pittsburgh to pressure Howmet into cancelling it's contract with Lockheed-Martin for F35 jet parts which are used over Palestine and Iran. The rally was organized by Pittsburgh BDS and the Howmet Accountability Project.

UE Local 1498 members at NMSU recently won full tuition remission, allowing graduate workers to enroll in classes full-time without the burden of tuition payments. The members have been fighting for this since the creation of the local, when a petition for tuition remission was circulated.
