It’s finally happened; I’m listening to a podcast where the host talks so slow I’m playing at 1.5x speed.

I think I’ll have a few hours to myself on Saturday and thought maybe I should pick up Silent Hill F since I do enjoy a bit of a Silent Hill time. €80-90?! I knew prices went up but didn’t realise they’d jumped from €60 so suddenly. Wow.

Something cool today was laying down some scratch vocals for some songs (Distort doesn’t lie, I do make music). Unexpectedly seeing some lyrics fit really well with a music idea was inspiring. Unfortunately I don’t have any vocal skills so this is purely temp, but we’ll worry about that one later.

💯this. And with scripts, a cruel irony is that sometimes folks will LOVE your script, but insist it has to be done a 'proper' way (ie. not the ultra microbudget route), and then a great script can get lost in the hunt for financiers.

I drove by a major Irish petrol station last night and thought it seemed weird that in less than a week, their price per litre had gone up 7c, but it all made sense when I got an email about their 20c off fuel day tomorrow. A 'cunning' plan.

One thing I absolutely love is that over the years I've known many insanely talented creative people who have shared things like demos and works-in-progress, and every now and again, I revisit those things. In light of their present day amazingness, I get to see how bright the spark was back when.

I have wanted this guide to the Video Nasties by Dark Side magazine for YEARS and I think I mentioned it in the order details, so of course Allan signed it! The first issue I read introduced me to Cannibal Holocaust, Ginger Snaps, and Funhouse, and they remain close to my horror heart to this day.

FedEx sent me a text saying they’d be delivering my package between 9.30am and 1.30pm, which was great cuz I was home working all day. Nothing. I went out to friends in the evening. A text at 8.50pm saying they just tried to deliver and I wasn’t there so 🤷 It’s the lies that hurt the most, man.

Rewatching The Innkeepers on the Second Sight 4K (which arrived crazy quick from the UK) and man is that still a top tier ghost story. The Sara Paxton and Pat Healy performances cannot be overstated. You just live in that world with them!

I really enjoyed this one at Frightfest and through sheer coincidence, a US film fest programmer asked us to meet/give trip advice to an actor and cinematographer on their visit to Ireland, and while chatting I discovered they were involved in this one. I love getting chats on things I enjoy!
