Today a jury in Prairieland, TX will decide if the state can imprison people for their beliefs, if the state can criminalize ideas it dislikes, if the state can treat anarchists like terrorists. It's a horrifyingly consequential pivot point in our descent into authoritarianism.

There's an abundance of five alarm fires right now, but pay close attention to the one going on with the Prairieland case. A jury will decide today if the government can criminalize protest, speech, and thought. So much hinges on this. Follow @dfwsupportcommitt.bsky.social for updates.

It's not an excuse for cooperation, but the federal government has clearly extracted bullshit confessions under conditions that meet the definition of torture—incl extreme isolation, sexual violence, physical and emotional abuse, and the withholding of appropriate food and medical care.
