I think the greatest Canadian film is Hello Destroyer (2016) and it not having a place on the Globe’s “Top 100 Canadian films” list yesterday is bewildering. I mean, the critique of hockey culture cuts too deep for Canada Day.

This has me enraged at both the federal and AB govs. They’ll point fingers at each other if this happens and they’ll both be right.

Every year the Globe publishes the same ‘we need to have ambition like John A’ editorial on Canada Day and every year it gets less ambitious. Kinda perfect, really.
