Israel has dropped more than 90,000 tons of bombs on the Gaza Strip, a largely urban enclave. That total exceeds that of the World War II bombings of Dresden, Hamburg, and London combined. That's also the equivalent of six Hiroshima-sized atomic bombs. Most of those bombs were provided by the U.S.

Today marks 80 years since the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. An estimated 140,000 people died, most instantly but many others after months of agony. This started an arms race of grotesque weapons of mass destruction which has been profoundly damaging to all creation.
