This came up in my memories when I built my best PC and I had to benchmark it. Now I could spend as much as I did on that system with just RAM! 🙃

Took a Mac SE, SNES, and Amiga 500 to a local swap meet today for people to play while shopping and hanging out. Poor Mac SE felt the wrath of kids playing in folders. 😅 I picked up some goodies though. The Mega Man coin bank was so good!

Something was quite right with the first 98SE install I had on here. Disk usage seemed very slow, network driver kept crashing, sound driver was buggy under DOS. Now everything just works and even connects online and my retroNAS.

Had time to troubleshoot the Alienware PC because frequently it would get stuck on a black screen when rebooting or shutting down. I think it’s some initialization issue with my PCI FX 5200? If I plug in an AGP Matrox card it just works even if I still have primary video set to PCI in the BIOS.

She’s 100% judging me because I decided I didn’t want to actually deal with Windows ME even if appropriate on here.

The Alienware came with Windows ME when it released. I feel I had to do this…

TIL some of these SATA to IDE adapters on Amazon are trash and just do not work with old computers at all. Should have just spent the extra few dollars for the Startech one to begin with. 🙃

After the nightmare of dealing with UPS and tariffs I finally able to upgrade my Amiga 500 with a ACA500plus! Was able to overclock the CPU to 28mhz and it seems stable so far.

Both of these computers have been sitting around since I got them as part of a bundle and I usually use my LC 575. Installed MacBatt and BlueSCSI (using my 575 drives images lol) and they both work perfectly! Now the real question is what should I do with the both of them. Besides a cleaning.

My C64 started displaying gibberish but seems to still function logic-wise at least? I guess I got to find a bad RAM chip…

I just sat on hold for three hours to speak to UPS because they assessed an incorrect tariff rate. The rep told me the AI on their website gave the incorrect phone number to call. The person said they could not transfer and asked I be patient with the hold time. I got a lil mad.

It’s missing the door which is sad but I might have a buddy 3D print something to put here. On the bright side I’ve always wanted one of these Alienware cases in blue. If you were at the VCFMW auction and were grossed out during the bidding it turned out to be gum that was on the network card… 😅
