I'll get straight to the point. We trained 2 new models. Like BERT, but modern. ModernBERT. Not some hypey GenAI thing, but a proper workhorse model, for retrieval, classification, etc. Real practical stuff. It's much faster, more accurate, longer context, and more useful. 🧵

I've been writing a lot about the terminal recently, and I've realized that there are two kinds of rules in the terminal: - "Laws of Terminal Physics"(that are ~always true) - Social Rules (that only work because people mostly agree on them) here are some of the social rules!

Story on putting kubernetes vendor/ directories on a diet. Kubernetes folks try to be good citizens in the golang ecosystem. We use a *LOT* of code from various repositories. How many lines of go code is in the kubernetes vendor/ directory? As of today 1.085 million:
