Made a temp trailer just to see how the music felt with a chill overview of the town. Potential motion sickness :/ sorry I think I'll do something similar for one of the two Steam page trailers, but with more care and attention to pacing and angles. Volume may be loud 🎵

Updated pause menu. I'll be incorporating a "messages" app, which will serve as a reminder of your upcoming date / location to help players find it. And potentially a "games" app with a simple phone game

Decided to redesign the pause menu so it'll work better with controller. Using placeholder icons and text boxes, but this should get the idea across. What do you think? The simulated phone environment was pretty difficult to get working 😅

I always manage to underestimate how important it is to develop with multiple resolutions in mind. I'm having to redo almost all of the UI because of a lack of foresight 🫠

Anyone else experience performance issues in
#Godot
when in Fullscreen mode? I typically develop in windowed 1080p, but strangely seeing crazy fps drops in fullscreen. Borderless Fullscreen seems to resolve this issue, but still kinda concerning to me

I wouldn't call it a bug per se... I unintentionally added a reticle to the game. When the pause menu opens, some lines appear out of the phone. I forgot to fade them out on un-pause. But I think having a little reticle helps the player know where they're pointing. I'll keep it

Little mock for the pause screen. You'll pull the phone out of your pocket and a few widgets will pop up for a map, settings, collectibles, etc. Want it to but snappy like a P5 menu while staying minimal, but I think this'll diverge into it's own thing. Happy Monday! ❤️

Just surpassed 250 wishlists! It is starting to get a bit nerve-wracking with more eyes on the project. I've been working hard for almost a year now, but more than anything I'm excited to get ADWY into the hands of players. Lots left to work on, but I can see the end in sight!

Today I'm feeling bittersweet. Valentine's day 2025 was the original release date for ADWY. Sad that I wasn't able to deliver this special game today, but excited to continue improving it and getting it in the hands of as many players as possible! ❤️

Here's another look at the fishing minigame! Still need to top off some UI elements and such, but this is the core gameplay. I've also set the time to speed up so you all can see the different times of day that you can fish! ❤️ I won't spoil the final fish to be caught 🤫🐟

Still re-working on the fishing minigame! I've now remade the first two fish - a Petrichor Perch and a Sunburst Reefy 🐟 In my post-mortem, I'd like to roughly chart how long I spent on different aspects of the game - specifically modeling and rigging these fish would be dominate it 😅

Anyone else struggle terribly with prioritization? Thinking of what I NEED to do to ship the game. I create a list for high priority and low priority. By the time I'm done, every item is in high priority :( I think it takes a lot of mental strength to know what you can and cannot do within time.

Working on the soup minigame! Actually was a but of a project to figure out how to mask the "soup" which is just a plane. Used a donut mesh to mask out around that - it works The game will have you fill up the soup bowl to the right height and please as many patrons as possible :)

I started this journey towards my first Steam release back in May 2024. I've gone from a Q4 2024 release date to a Feb 14th, 2025 target However, my day job as an engineer has been busier than expected. I hope I can deliver on Valentines day, but until then: let's see what I can do with 2 months! ❤️

I tend to hide NPCs in random places when I know I need to rework them. I totally forgot about this one, and just realized they're creepily staring at me from a distance... Straight out of a horror film 😱
