Freelancers: Don’t say ‘yes’ to every offer of work (I know that’s hard!). I turned down 2 separate book design job offers (covers & internals) yesterday. Experience allows you to see what jobs (clients) are going to, potentially, be problematic & ultimately not worth it – a million miles away.

I’m sending FOUR books to print this Friday. I’ve got two book covers to design, and one internal book to typeset by the following Thursday – before starting an annual, five-week book project … followed by another new photo-location (Dublin) book to design and produce. Long live books eh!
