It’s absolutely popping off in the garden today. Must be some sort of bird conference going on nearby. This was all in the space of five minutes. Not sure how unusual a lapwing is here at this time of year, certainly the first time we’ve had one in the garden.

Yesterday was an excellent food day. One of our favourite local spots was doing a Crêperie pop up which was excellent and delicious and then for dinner me and the boy made sushi - his first time - and it turned out great. We’re lucky to get really great quality fish (and pancakes!) down here. #devon

Side-side project: Building a little desktop music player for Roon so I can run and control Roon without having the full-size app running. It support roon audio zons, lyrics display and playlists. Still lots to do, but it already works enough to be useful. Needs a name - RoonyTunes? Wayne?

When google maps can’t get proper location data and you are on a moving train it guesses you are moving along the nearest road and forces the location indicator to follow it which is a bit disconcerting because that’s not where trains go, generally. Is that graceful failure or just being too clever?

There’s a weird coffee place called Nagare down at the back of Tate Modern which is half Jazz Kissa, half corporate lobby coffee counter. I don’t really understand the concept, but the Shokupan tamago sando is delicious and they have interesting beans and so it gets a pass.

I’ve rerun my EFL championship sim after the early games today, and obviously it makes FOR good reading for a Coventry City fan. If we win away at Swansea today I think we will be basically there. Week 1 of new job done. My new colleagues seem really nice. What a relief that is after my previous gig. Next week I’m working from Barcelona. There needs to be enough sun for me to thaw but not so much that I am forced to claim asylum from the repressive weather regime of England.
