Monday morning so far: ✅ Bode farewell to the last of the holiday season guests. My mother is off back to NZ today and perhaps we’ll see her again at some point this decade. ✅ Cleared and chopped down the 20ft long bit of cedar which came down in the wind last night and blocked the street.

Radio 2 this morning: 7:59 - It must’ve been love by Roxette 8:01 - Simulated drowning & other tortures Love to start the week off with vivid descriptions of torture over breakfast with my 7 year old. The real lesson here is that I need to revoke network access to anyone trying to play Radio 2.

I made a sort of Mentaipan for brunch today with salmon roe and, friends - it was incredible. I’ll get my hands on some cod/pollock roe and make the real thing next time but knowing I can make an approximation of the version I ate at Pain Stock in Fukuoka is excellent news.
