After slaving away for five years on a new web-design framework it was good to see one of my sites finally make it into the limelight!!! The forums were I get help for making my site had a pretty fun yearly review section with a look inspired by the early internet.

I just watched the latest review of my project after putting it off (I usually get a little nervous after a review gets done!) One point brought up was the time put in to hand draw the lettering and yes, each poem heading was drawn with numerous iterations like these to get to the final design.

I had a YouTube channel review my project this morning. It was submitted so many months ago that I almost forgot about it. I told the guy who runs the channel that it was my portfolio. I said that because it showcases a lot of what I do. The truth is, I'm actually working on my real portfolio now.

A rough sketch of a title for my poem. The idea was to connect all the characters together so that it would go with the theme of moving up in age. I loved when we did this in horticulture.

It was fun to visit Eckstein's 75th Anniversary Open House last month. Everyone was able to see the work students were doing inside the classroom environment. The science class was open as well as English, Math, Art. You got to see work like this and get the chance to talk to students and teachers.

That voice endues in the hilltop sky I got there one day – just walked on by our seminal crossroads crosswalk Kai. This 3 line stanza I am thinking of using as an intro to a multipart #NarrativePoem. It used to have about 20 lines but I think it works better short. #BlackPoem #Poem #Poetry

I've been working on heading graphics for my introduction blurb page for over a year. I didn't expect it to take so long but for some reason the graphic with positive type on the top, negative see through type on bottom messed with my mind a little bit! #BookSky #InteractiveBook #HandLettering

I made an update to this poem page with some new free verse on pink. This whole project is organized together by colors that gradually change from page to page. The image I used is for the other poem that has a lot of green in it. There should probably be a photo that displays #pink too.

When I get in bed, I inventory the day: What did I accomplish? Other than a drawing, sometimes not much. So I remind myself what I DIDN'T do: I didn't exploit, harass, market, proselytize, swindle, argue, waste resources or acquire anything I don't need. Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing.

My site is tied together by gradually changing color themes. There was one section right in the middle that didn't flow, colors abruptly changed and switched to a long section of prose. I remedied that with this one page that transfers a pink section to green. Really excited that everything flows!

I've always thought of black as #masculine. When making a brief mention of it in a poem someone asked about it. He pointed out that blue was the social construct #BoyColor. This made me realize that the story would be even more effective if it showed these two colors in conjunction. #BlackPoem

I've been working hard on #PoemHeadings for each of my #poems. Today I've basically drew the last one! This poem was about a the #flood of #students that pour down the hill after school lets out. The same year I wrote it I saw the above poster. My version had #Alliteration with the letters "Spi."

Cool to see Dave release Santa Cruz demos! I know that later in the production process other musicians helped to fill in parts of these songs. It made me curious what it sounded like before other writers got involved but I still have to wonder, does he write parts to all 5 albums at the same time?

One of my favorite parts of this project was when I started writing poems on the many students I grew up. By thinking back on them again it got me to look into what they are doing now. I found someone from my sixth grade homeroom and I enjoyed reading his blog posts yesterday.

I love these ads I found on eBay that market sweats primarily by how stylish they are. "Dressed To Kill" and "Our Image Follows Us Everywhere." I wonder why it took companies so long to sell them from this perspective? Prior eras just touted their sports performance advantages as far as I can tell.

I made my first @wikipedia.org page this week. It was for Pedro the Lion's new album Santa Cruz. No one else seemed to have made a page for it after a year so I figured I might as well give it a try. Before this I had just be making slight edits to preexisting pages. #PedroTheLion

I've been working on a story about when I needed help getting gum out of my hair. The poem took a couple days to come together but I made the page in about a day. That surprised me a little, but I guess at this point when I have many of the basic elements ready to go things move fast!
