🌊 New preprint! Maternal-to-zygotic transition across the isogamy–oogamy continuum in brown algae. In animals, maternal provisioning delays ZGA. In brown algae, it appears to support it: fast and continuous in oogamy, biphasic in near-isogamy with a delayed wave. 🔗
