Glad to see the positive comments about Metroid Prime 4. I assume it'll be pretty good. Weird that it languished in development hell so long. I'll probably get it on the Switch... But I need new joycons.

Or it tends to lump artists together based on time period regardless of genre. I hate that. Wish it were more genre specific.

Spotify also favors artists with higher stream counts most of the time. Makes it hard to dig deep into the obscure stuff.

Wish I knew what Spotify considered a genre. I listened to 392 different genres this year. Seemed like it was serving me my liked songs over and over.

I had sushi tonight.

I was once in a work group of friends that would eat sushi every week so we could learn Japanese together. We didn't learn Japanese. But we had great sushi. Those were good times.

There's so much good out of print music on YouTube. So many things that are unreasonable to obtain off Discogs or elsewhere... Especially now with tariffs and added costs.

Going back to Vermont again. I've spent an entire month there working on a project. Hoping the weather is ok while I'm there. Last time it was rather nice.

This last second edition to my magazine will only add more cost and time. Graphic design and layout doesn't feel the same way as other artistic endeavors.

So close to finishing my hand drawn map of the Legend of Zelda. I'm annoyed that I'm being a perfectionist about it. 10 year old me would have been done a long time ago.

Watching Gamecenter CX episode #408: Jaleco's The Lord of King. Not too often when I have a copy of the challenge game! Astyanax!

Kinda pumped for the new Steam controller. I've used the first one for a long time and felt like it was an interesting stepping stone towards the ultimate PC controller.

Haven't played the Dragon Quest 1&2 remake yet- probably waiting until Christmas break for that one. Reviews sound positive. I'm still working through the 3 remake- just pulled up to Baramos last night. Challenging!

I have a little notebook I use for Dragon Quest Japanese practice. I translate the menus and items and then work on handwriting. I wish I could say that some of it is starting to stick, but I'm having a hard time learning the characters...

Was listening to the latest ep of @84play.bsky.social and started watching episodes of the old 1UP show on YouTube. Never watched these during the heyday- but there are so many familiar folks there. These videos really emphasize a Golden Era of gaming in the mid 2000s.

Going back to Vermont. I'm amazed by that state and the characters I meet there.

Spent the better part of the day working on an impromptu game jam in pico 8. Got an animated walking sprite that jumps and lands on collision. Wow. That felt pretty good!

Reading old issues of Famitsu this morning. Surprised to see Super Monkey Daibouken was ¥4900 when it was released. More surprised to find out it sold around 300k copies. Didn't see any reviews of the game in my search. I must've missed it. Curious to know contemporary opinions of the game.
