This is undoubtedly part of Parish’s thinking too. Every chance someone (Spurs, United, Newcastle) try to nab him before he’s a free agent, and Parish can use those funds towards paying for his replacement.

This is what I expected tbh. Glasner is a passionate man and Parish is professional and forgiving. It also gives me some hope that they may have lined someone up. Someone only available in the summer.

I’m still in two minds. I’m convinced Glasner will turn it around and I don’t think we’re as likely to win the UECL without him. But, any manager coming in knows he’s only two or three tough games away from a European trophy so we should be able to attract a decent name.

Glasner intentionally didn’t make a sub there to emphasise the lack of support and try to absolve himself of responsibility. It does all feel a bit ominous. At least there’ll be a few decent managers available soon.

I did think the Mateta rumours sounded like bollocks. He’s always wanted to move to a bigger club, he basically called us a stepping stone on his first interview. But I always thought he has enough respect for us as a club to be professional until the end.

Manchester press reporting that the Guehi fee is £20m rising to £30m based on success, plus a sell on fee. All of a sudden that looks a good deal. If he’s a success, you’d expect we see most of that £10m extra, if he isn’t then he’s still a player people will pay £50m+ for so we’d the the sell on.

I can see what Spurs fans meant about Johnson. A bit of a 3 trick pony. Incredible movement off the ball, speed, and an end product. That cross Mateta nearly tapped in was brilliant, his run onto JP’s through ball was as clever as you’ll see. He’ll be a huge hit here, particularly in OG’s system.
