When writing mysteries or uncertainties in stories, I find the thing that I fixate on most is not patronizing the reader. Most readers are quite intelligent and genre savvy and will easily apprehend your intent, so accounting for that in a way that feels satisfying in the end is crucial.

AI is a doomed enterprise, and all of NATO will suffer for it.

The problem is that tech billionaires are out of touch enough to believe Science Fiction level AI can be achieved in the next decade when it's more likely to take a century or two. Boards are demanding the impossible while developers are pushing an ecologically unsustainable ceiling of performance.

AI is a multi-level marketing scheme propped up by corporations inebriated on a sense of sunk-cost and a desperate desire to replace human workers with ones they can exploit endlessly for less or no cost. Calling it AI is effectively piggybacking off of a Science Fiction concept to cultivate image.

It's always been really silly to me when people try to make believe that "AI" (which I resent calling it by the way, they're just LLMs, which are not intelligent) are on the level of the printing press or the internet. Those things encouraged human communication. AI actively discourages it.

There is something really nice about being able to draw my own book cover for my story now. Like, will it be professional quality? No. Will it better reflect how I see the characters and be nice to look at for someone? Probably. Does it make me feel better about myself? Now that's a definitely.

There's really nothing else like the Phantasy Star Online soundtrack. I adore retro futurism like that, and kinda wish I were old enough to have played the game at its zenith some days Also, I managed to reach 2k words for chapter three tonight despite feeling bad, so. That's a victory

Anyway, I'm having high tea for my birthday in a few days at a nice place. Really excited for that. It's nice to feel fancy and ladylike for a bit.

There's probably no point to me writing or drawing anything when the same things exist elsewhere but better. I'm such a hollow, worthless existence. Some days I'm able to ignore that and create anyway, but the days I'm too conscious of it are crippling.

I love the idea of my role being to be cute and sensitive and kind and being able to make people happy by being that instead of frustrated. I don't want to be tough. I want to be loved. Big intimidating kings and CEOs aren't loved, not like that. I want to make people smile and be cherished. (2/2)

A lot of people romanticize "being a child again" but in my case it definitely isn't a longing to go back to my own childhood A bit part of it is that "adults" are expected to be emotionally and materially self-sufficient and to "not care what others think" whereas, if a child does, it's cute (1/2)
