So, we were back at the CanTico bar for evening drinks, and when I settled up our tab, they insisted on giving me one more drink to go. They gave me a Solo cup that, I swear, is half-filled with rum. Guess we'll be going back.

Before DW and I left Canada, we watched some YouTube videos of the birds of Guanacaste and Bijagua, and we made a list of the top three birds that we wanted to see (and hopefully photograph). On our first morning, in Bijagua, we saw two of them. This morning, in Potrero, we spotted the third one.

When I return home, I'm selling my two Nikons and all related gear. This vacation has shown me that my cameras are too heavy for carrying everywhere. It's time to go mirrorless.

Typically, at home, my resting HR will go from the mid 70s to the 120s bpm after a cup of coffee. I've had one cup every morning since I've been in Costa Rica and my HR doesn't budge. I guess I'm never leaving.

Our guide through the jungle pointed out a termite nest and said that the termites are 60%protein and taste like a woody mint. He then stuck a stick into the nest and drew out a few. So I ate two of them. He's not wrong about the flavour.
