Soggy underfoot out this morning after a glorious day yesterday. Fog lying in the river valleys around Bath which was gradually burned off by the sun. We had a nice walk to Iford and back after dog training, including a little coffee stop during which B snoozed on my lap. Have a good day! xx

Long day yesterday, driving to and from Harefield for a routine checkup for Sir, via Heathrow to drop off Young Sir. Hideous driving conditions, but we made it. I found a lake at Harefield I didn't know was there! Frozen over, with sun filtering through mist. Lovely. Have a good day! xx

Up with the lark, although tbh I think the lark was still asleep at the ungodly hour. Yesterday was very soggy, but I was able to take some rainy Bath pics including one of the Abbey with a pop of colour. How fortunate that someone with a red umbrella was there at the right time! 'Is it drizzle or is it rain?' I'm sure there is a scientific definition but my Bellometer - a nifty device which applies all four brakes the exact moment rain is detected - told me with certainty that it was drizzling to start with, but that it turned to rain soon afterwards. Have a good day! xx

A beautiful day yesterday, so I went to my favourite Saturday morning haunt, Prior Park landscape garden. Had company this time, not just B but also son ('You tricked me! I thought we were going somewhere to eat!'). Lovely to share this beautiful place with them both. Have a good day! xx

Here is a video of a frozen creek that had begun to thaw, and the water was flowing beneath the thin ice on top. I took this because it was soothing and wonderfully bloopy and I wanted to listen to it for hours. You are all welcome to enjoy it, too. Let your brain settle here and rest for a moment.

The briefest of walks this morning as B declared it too cold. Yesterday the ice crept along the canal with a light dusting of snow on top. One swan walked across, with the ice groaning and cracking underneath and then sat on a thin bit creating its own pool with its body warmth. Have a good day! xx

A drizzly Monday morning. I went to Portrait Club at the Holburne yesterday afternoon. Drawings not up to much but a good exercise, plus good exercise walking there and back. The light was going as I walked home but it was still okay to go along the canal. Have a good day. xx

Yesterday was cold, frosty and sunny so I took Bella for a bonus outing round part of the Skyline Walk and back via Prior Park. The light was extraordinary there - next time I'll bypass the big hill and go straight there for photos and coffee. Have a good day! xx

Well, I had heard but not seen steam trains this Christmas market season, so I thought I'd better go and look for one today. It was quite dark, so I found a vantage point near the station to see it coming in, then scuttled round to the other side to watch it leave. Water, light, steam! Oh, my heart!
