This is one of the most twisted science fiction stories I’ve read in a very long time. It’s disturbing in a way that lingers, not just because of gore or shock value, but because it digs deep into the worst-case scenario of what happens when technology gives us everything we want.

On Tuesday, six immigration officers were charged by the Crown Prosecution Service with money laundering offences. A Home Office investigation prompted prosecutors to bring charges after the Anti-Corruption Criminal Investigations Unit uncovered alleged thefts and money laundering.
