The main thing I remember from my years of trying to get pregnant and experiencing pregnancy loss was that I usually had no idea wtf was going on and felt totally unprepared for all of it. This is helpful and good to share widely as the stakes keep getting higher.

Happy Birthday Edward Gorey! I hope Ursula is still bugging, bothering, cajoling you in heaven to finish your book.

The Pitt (which I love) is like Mr. Rogers for desocialized adults (most of us?). “When someone dies, we take a minute. [show forces us, too, to take a minute].” Didactic mimetic sentimentalism is back and not a moment too soon.

Did you know that Gov. Hochul's proposed budget includes a $10 million cut to library construction aid? At a time when we need libraries more than ever? If you're in New York State, take a moment to let your reps know NO CUTS TO LIBRARIES.

Increase library funding in the FY 2026 Budget and stop proposed cuts!
As a supporter of New York State’s libraries and library professionals, I am dismayed by Governor Kathy Hochul’s Executive Budget Proposal for FY2026. Despite proposing a modest $748,000 increas...
