Good morning. Despite doing all the right things to ensure an excellent night’s sleep I did not in fact have an excellent night. However, the kettle is on, the birds are singing and I’ve got a gentle day ahead.

Blackcurrant lemsip are definitely not as nice as lemon and even lemon isn’t that nice. Honey and blackcurrant seems like a weird taste combination. Fortunately I have almost zero sense of taste at the moment.

Morning. The kettle’s on for a lemsip. Slightly less coughing last night so maybe this cold has turned a corner. Another quiet day planned.

I’ve just rung to see if I can get an appointment with someone at the doctors surgery. They could only offer an appointment with a paramedic a week tomorrow. That’s not ideal.

Good morning. The lurgy continues and all plans cancelled for today & tomorrow. Don’t fancy tea 😱

In July I put some jewellery in a safe place, nothing of massive value but some sentimental. I wasn’t able to find the little velvet pouch anywhere. I emptied my wardrobe and both sets of drawers in my bedroom in the hunt. I’d decided I probably threw it away in error. 1/2

The youngest is 30. How on earth did that happen? She’s had an excellent week of well deserved celebrations.

Up the Arsenal

This morning I’m mostly feeling a bit unwell and sorry for myself. I’ve got a cold, it’s really not anything serious but it’s making me disproportionally miserable. No tea, no lemsip. It’s not raining.

Trying really hard to sleep but every time I doze off I wake myself coughing. It’s utterly grim.

I’ve been out and in an unusual course of events have taken some drink. It was the youngest’s 30th so that’ll be my excuse. There was a massive glitter ball.

Good morning. The lemsip is still a bit warm but will hopefully perk me up so I can go and wave at #parkrun runners, joggers and walkers this morning. There will be a big nap later I think.

Now is not the time of year for the tumble dryer to stop working, is it? I’ve just tried something to see if it’ll work (there was a tear in the hose). Keep your fingers crossed. I’ve got two loads of towels which need to be dried.

Yesterday I had a bit of a croaky voice. Today I’ve got almost no voice, there won’t be much cheering at #parkrun in the morning

Good morning. The sky is beautifully pink streaked and pale blue today. The tea has been replaced with a lemsip as I seem to be full of cold with a marvellous smokers cough. Busy day ahead so I’m girding my loins and leaping out of bed.

All more or less sorted. I’m going out for lunch now, because I definitely deserve it.

Good morning. Tea on the go and outside pale blue skies which were streaked with pink earlier. It’s looking like a better day. This morning I’m mostly going to be trying to move my office back into my office. Not sure I’m actually up for moving the desk but we’ll soon find out.

Today mum was up in arms about the strictly result which was definitely a fix. Some people had much more sparkly costumes and so were bound to not get eliminated. I don’t watch it so had no idea of the context of all this rage.

Good morning. I’m not enjoying these dark mornings but soon we’ll be past the longest night and the days will get longer when. After a restless night I’m a bit late to the tea, but the kettle is on.

A very large dinosaur egg full of dinosaur things has been purchased for the grandson who turns five today. I’m hoping he’ll be delighted and tell me the names of each one as he takes them out of their egg

And home again. Am very peopled out this weekend. Could do with a hug and a cup of tea.

This morning has been cooking chilli, onion bhaji, and samosas, plus some raita, salsa and sweet and sour sauce. Time to get changed for the party.

Good morning. It’s a cool morning today and I’ve got to retrieve the bin from the neighbour’s. I’m on my second tea. Visitor coming today so I’ve got to give the appearance of always keeping my home clean and tidy.

Good morning. Grey and murky skies outside. I’ve a busy day ahead, but as always, it’s time for a nice cup of tea. It would have been my Dad’s birthday today, so I shall be thinking of him and how we tried to set him alight one year.

Lovely dog walk in bright sunshine. A cool and crisp kind of a winter day.

Good morning, a grey start to the day. The tea was a perfect temperature and breakfast was filling. Dog walk shortly (possibly including further tea)

Am still adjusting to having the house back to myself after almost three years. It feels very still and calm. The best thing is that all the mess is my own, don’t mind cleaning my own mess.

The sun has come out after the grey start, I’ve had work done on my back so I’m floating again now. Now to start on some chores.

Good morning. It’s another grey start to the day. The tea is perfect and there are things to be done today.

Today turned out to be a good one. Cases emptied, washing done, lots of crap thrown away, and a trip to the pub for lunch. It feels like I did today well. Safe to go to bed now.

First task when back turned out to be cleaning the fridge. Wasn’t my plan but I was marvelling at all the space now the son has moved out and one thing led to another. Also the suitcases are now unpacked and put away. Five minute sit down.

Present me is delighted past me left some bread in the freezer for toast. No avocado sadly so I’ve gone for black cherry conserve

Good morning from home. Glad to find the house was still standing and the dogs were happy. Slept for a full eight hours, which is rare at the best of times so hopefully I’ll be able to stay awake all day. Today’s suitcase unpacking possibly the very worst bit of any holiday.

Very best dog welcome when I got home. All calm again now but was noisy and waggy.

And a bit of a gallop between flights with not much connection time, but I’m on plane 2. And, almost home.

Forgot to say don’t wake me up for lunch so was disturbed from an excellent sleep & am waiting for more food. Long haul is sleeping and eating on repeat.

Go on then. It’ll help me sleep …

I’m in the lounge waiting for my flight which leaves in an hour. Now for a long old sleep (with any luck).

Earlier I tucked into this bad boy. Wow was it delicious.

In a cunning act to age myself considerably, I couldn’t find my passport. I’d packed the cases like a life size Jenga in compression bags & had to undo them all (& they are a bit of a pig to do up). My “safe” place was not an obvious one,but I have the passport so I’ll have to come home.

And with that the #parkrun international tour is finished.

It’s Saturday and so it must be #parkrun in the sunshine. Next time I’ll be wearing thermals and waterproofs.

There are no shrimp on the barbie, is this even Australia?

I’ve an entire picture folder of food and drink I’ve consumed on this trip. On the cold winter nights in the UK I’ll remember the warm sunshine that accompanied most of those meals.

Last breakfast with Aus daughter this trip and we went out in style with massive pancakes. Should have shared one portion because neither of us could eat more than half!
