Donkey Kong Bananza is pure dopamine. Breaking stuff is absurdly fun. There's a weird ugliness to character models that makes them interesting to look at. The sound and music is delightful and weird. Main characters are overly expressive (though half the NPCs are rocks with google eyes). I love it.

Working on physical print has been really rewarding here of late. I don't know how to make it sustainable just yet, but I want to do games media forever. Much love to my #gaming #writer colleagues <3 I want a fulfilling future for all of us.

I picked up Monster Hunter Wilds and I love it but I Demon's Souls has such a grip on me that I actually played it in favor of MH on launch day. Wild times, I tell ya hwut.

The world is scary and I'm having it rough transitioning into a job outside of #gaming but I was gifted a healing experience by my partner that made things so much better. I got to pet and hang out with Capybaras at Sustainable Safari in Maplewood, MN! They're so cool and calm.

Having a job outside of games is bizarre. On one hand, it feels familiar because I used to write reviews in between news broadcasts as a production assistant in 2015, but being able only to write after working a full day is abysmal.

My partner and I got the platinum last night on Cat Quest II by The Gentle Bros and it was delightful, low-impact, funny, and just complex enough to be engaging. It plays like a simplified action RPG with a really appealing world map. It's a simple but fun co-op game.

I love a good extensive review. I'm not sure how I want to turn this into a video script yet, but it might turn into one.

I'm in the process of onboarding for a role completely unrelated to games. I found it based on a recommendation through CareerForce at a job fair with 3-4 tables. If you need to survive, do not wait on a games job. I'll continue pursuing my career outside of a typical 9-5 while earning a cert.

Couple of quick takes on the #GameAwards nominees for 2024. Best Esports Athlete - Hands down Arslan Ash for their EVO performance GOTY, Game Direction, and Art Direction all basically having the same games is silly. Personally, GOTY is a tossup between Tekken 8/FF7 Rebirth/Space Marine 2

ICYMI the #MonsterHunter Wilds beta was a lot of fun, but I have some concerns when it comes to player connectivity. Regardless, this is a beautiful game with a ton of depth even at this early stage.

One of my favorite game franchises of all time is #MonsterHunter and after playing the Open Beta of #MonsterHunterWilds I am excited, but a little worried about its approach to online play. Regardless, mechanically this is a fascinating next step for this series.

Another painful round of layoffs, this time GameSpot. Games media deserves better. We can have a brighter future, but it's going to take effort and funding. Readers, please support independent outlets, patreons, projects, whatever from those writers, designers, hosts, etc.
