My submission for tomorrows Pie-Appaloosa at work took longer than intended, but hopefully pays off. Decided to try something new and did a sage infused custard pie with rum poached pears (using captain Morgan in honor of my mom). It looks good, I’ll find out tomorrow if it taste good too!

It’s the end of an Era. It was finally time to say goodbye to Alice, my mannequin that I have had for about 14 years. You were my quiets roommate, a fabulous conversation starter, and the best Christmas Tree a guy could ask for. Rest in pieces.

Going through someone’s possessions and deciding if they are kept, donated, sold, or thrown out is very weird and surreal. I am almost done going through it all, but it’s just a strange way to view my mother and what she left behind.

First number is has the chickens. I am already sold (not that it was going to take much convincing!) I needed this, my body is ready!

Just had the impulse to call my mom on the way home from work, and the realization I can’t. Part of this still doesn’t feel real. It hasn’t been a full month yet, and somehow it feels like an eternity has passed. Life is weird.

Introduced my little sister to Return to Oz, and she loved it. Good thing to otherwise I might have had to disown her.

@brandielou.bsky.social is one of the most wonderful humans in existence. The way he has been there for me and my family through the sudden loss of my mother is immeasurable and I would be lost without him. Life will be very different moving forward, and I am lucky to have him there with me.
