I wrote something deeply personal recently… & I don’t know if I’ll ever publish it. But as soon as I wrote it down, I stepped away. Sometimes, you just need a place to let the words out, let them exist, & then you can step away and move on to the next thing. And all of that is 100% okay. #WriteSky

I was in middle school. My mom signed me up for a workshop organized by the local arts council. I figured it would be like my 3rd-grade ‘writing workshop,’ but then I learned it was led by a published author—a real, live author. It felt surreal to learn from someone who had published a book.
