I was inspired! Fully based on gut feeling with no criteria, but I couldn't cut it to 25 and went with 30. Reality is there's like 300 games I'd consider my favourites but I wanted to include influential games that I'd still play at the drop of a hat.

One thing that makes indie games so special is that the developers get to focus really hard into a niche. Either visually or mechanically. Take your favourite game / genre and go all in on honing and expanding the idea. The crunchy and intricate stuff that a larger studio can’t waste time on.
