MPS workers are holding walk-ins across the city before school day for International Workers Day to remind all that labor rights and immigrant rights are intertwined. Immigrant workers are the backbone of key industries—yet they face disproportionate exploitation, wage theft, & unsafe conditions.

It was great seeing so many members and public education supporters on MKE's highway overpasses for today's 50501 - 50 States, 50 Protests, 1 Day. The Highway Overpass Demonstration & Clean Up took place on 15 different overpasses across the city in response to Trump's dismantling of our Democracy.

Private voucher schools get 90% of their special education funding reimbursed while public schools only get 29%, which is unconscionable given private schools do not have to provide services to students with special needs and many "counsel out" students after they've collected state funding.

A major victory for public education and the students, staff, and families at Pulaski High School and ALBA! At the October 31 meeting of the MPS School Board, the Board voted against renewing leases with private charter school operator Carmen, which occupies significant space in ALBA and Pulaski.
