One of the problems with adopting the metric system in North America is the number of syllables to say anything. Imperial: inch, feet, yards, miles Metric: centimeters, decimeters, meters, kilometers I'm in Canada. We're supposed to be all metric, but most everyone says their height in feet/in.

The Bad Guys 2 is phenomenal. A very worthy follow-up to The Bad Guys, and contains at least one set piece that I've never seen before in a film (animated or otherwise). Clever, creative, funny, action-packed. Well worth seeing.

For the last couple of days, I was running into a major video quality issue with The Town that Cried Wolf. In short, the video was looking too compressed (full of jaggies and obvious blocks of color). Adobe Premiere couldn't handle it. Filmora couldn't either. You know what worked? BLENDER.

You know, with all of the movies lately that have tried to capitalize on '80s and '90s nostalgia, you know what's been missing? Trailers that start with a deep voice saying "IN A WORLD..." Bring back the narrated trailers! I know Don LaFontaine is gone, but surely someone could do it.

So, I gotta get this off my chest: I really liked Clippy. It was relatively helpful with tips, and all of its little animations were the best. (I encountered Clippy in Microsoft Word before ever being on the Internet, so I had no idea that I was supposed to despise it.)

And on the subject of movies, I also finally got around to watching Pixar's Elemental. Wow, have I been sleeping on that. It was great! Definitely better than I expected! A very imaginative world, and yet grounded. The story felt on par with Pixar's best for me.

Homestar Runner was probably the influential Flash animation series of my life. I remember being first exposed to it in 2003 by Lance Priebe, and absolutely loving it.
