July 4th was my father’s favorite holiday. He was a Vietnam vet were he served multiple tours as an officer in the Navy. So, now that he’s passed I’ll say what he said beginning in 2016 every July 4th as a toast: Fuck Trump! You draft dodging grifter piece of shit!

Yesterday as I was walking into my grocery store a man started screaming at me about being MS-13 (maybe because I’m heavily tattooed?) and shoved me. He screamed that I should be deported, raped, & executed. Thankfully a passerby intervened & blocked the man from grabbing me. This is our new normal.

I spent the last two days trying to calm students, colleagues, the clinicians I supervise, and clients about the pending bill that will cause moral, physical, social, and economic injury to most Americans. Trouble is, I can’t calm myself.
