Seen an influx of Nigerian scammers specifically targeting furries recently. If you receive an unsolicited DM, use due diligence. Telegram started to say the account's country (although that's not a perfect indicator). These accounts can look legit, but often use AI or stolen art.

I'm not really sure what the endgame is, but I imagine it would be one of these: • Begging for money, preying on giving nature of furries • Convention scam, paying them for a room that doesn't exist • Account theft, malware links that take over accounts • Fake commission/goods scam • Romance scam

Most of my interaction with these accounts has come through a local furry buy/sell group. It's pretty clear that they're targeting a group where money changes hands. I've not spent time scambaiting them though, so I'm curious if anyone else has done that and what the outcome has been.
