For lunch I assembled a “ploughman’s lunch” spread for the family. Fresh baked rosemary focaccia bread! If you’re a beginner at baking, google a “no knead” focaccia recipe and try it. It’s pretty forgiving, requires no unusual ingredients, and is so tasty when fresh! #ChefRat

My take on some tapas favorites tonight: patatas bravas, bacon-wrapped stuffed dates, garlic butter shrimp, and roasted broccoli. If you haven’t tried making them, lots of easy recipes for dates stuffed with goat cheese, wrapped in half a slice of bacon, and roasted in the oven. Decadent #ChrfRat

Tonight I cooked crab fried rice. This is a great way to turn a small pot of crab meat into a big, comforting dish. Features egg and basil for a Thai angle. Pro tip: cook the rice ahead and cool it in the fridge to avoid the gumminess. #ChefRat

Tonight’s dinner was sausage and white bean soup. Easy and even frugal dish but big on flavor! Some cheap Johnsonville sausages, canned white beans, kale, and a typical soup base (more poix, broth). Try it! #ChefRat

I’ve been organizing and upgrading my workshop setup. Today’s project was making a new holster for my heat gun! This was done with a bit of scrap pine board and galvanized wire. The board is “stained” with some acrylic paint and rubbed with a touch of black ink to (cheaply) give it some character.
