The Global Sumud Flotilla, a group of civilians aiming to bring much needed aid & solidarity to Gaza, is under threat from an Israeli government intent on genocide. Spain and Italy are sending navy ships to protect those on board - the UK should follow in taking tangible action.

Tzipi Hotovely has concluded her term as Israel’s ambassador to the UK. Throughout her tenure, we opposed her appointment and campaigned against providing her with platforms due to the racism, incitement, and genocidal rhetoric she brought to the role.

In 1917, Britain denied Palestinian national rights, paving the way for over a century of dispossession. Recognition is long overdue - but it alone won’t end Israel’s genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, which continue unabated with the UK's complicity.

Yesterday, a UN Commission reached the conclusion that Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza through deliberate targeting of civilians, enforced starvation, mass displacement, and destruction of life-sustaining infrastructure.

On Saturday, an estimated 1500 people sat down on Parliament Square in London in a peaceful protest, holding up placards declaring their opposition to genocide and their support for a non-violent activist group. 890 of these people were arrested.

August is World Breastfeeding Awareness month. Every day in Gaza, nearly 50 mothers and children are killed — at least. UNICEF estimates that an average of 28 children die every day under Israeli bombardment. Those who survive are often too weak and malnourished to breastfeed.

Last week, Israeli minister Itamar Ben-Gvir was filmed threatening and taunting Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti in a solitary confinement cell of the jail where Israel has held him for 23 years. We are disgusted by this display of contempt and intimidation.
