Finally finished my coop playthrough of Tales of Graces F! The story of this game is as bland as I remembered but fun times were had nonetheless. Sophie and Richard are the best, Pascal too 🥹 And the skits were almost all amazing in this game! “I now pronounce you husbands” - Sophie Lhant

JRPG pet peeve of the day If I answer “yes” here, in both French and English it clearly means “yes I’ve indeed never heard of that village”. But in Japanese yes means “you’re wrong, because yes I know of this village” A good localization takes this into account but many games fail in that regards

These designs are so underwhelming, they have zero soul or personality, but that’s on par with the Pokemon experience nowadays. Probably will skip this gen too, but I’m not the biggest Pokemon fan to start with so not a huge surprise! Excited for Pokemon fans who do like these though 🥳

Video game reviews nowadays: It’s another remake or remaster of a game that didn’t need it. The old version is still widely available and in some ways better. This review has been mostly negative… but you should buy it anyway it’s a great game! Yes this was inspired by Tales of Berseria Remastered

I want a Switch 2 Lite that *can* be docked but is one solid piece without detachable wiimotes, that would require a pro controler to play in docked mode. In my mind it also has a smaller size and OLED screen 🥹

Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen are 29,99$ on the Canadian Eshop, and I wouldn’t even mind it, I would buy it… if it wasn’t Kanto again 🙃 Let’s Go Eevee was my Kanto and it was great and I loved it but I have no desire to go back to that region/story. Give us SoulSilver or Black/White 1 and 2 instead

Resisted the urge to start Yakuza Kiwami 1 this morning 😌 but I did download it to my PS5 hehehe Continuing Dragon Quest VII for the moment being. Its episodic nature makes it good for doing a chapter here and there!

And that’s the end of Yakuza 0 🥲 That final scene got a tear out of me! I can understand why people like this game so much, and I want to play Kiwami 1 right away (but I probably won’t). Can’t wait to see this series evolve into what I’ve seen in Like a Dragon!

I can probably finish Yakuza 0 today, but I’m not excited about it :/ The game was really fun at first and as the mystery built up, but I kinda lost interest in the whole empty lot storyline after a while. Majima and all the sidestories are great though!

What I like less about P3R, P4G and P5R is that even with all the bells and whistles of countless options and QOL, there’s still one best use of your time. It doesn’t encourage experimentation. Before, you had less options and you couldn’t easily max everything, you had to make real tough choices

I’ve always been on the side of heroic heroes rather than antiheroes, but I have to admit that characters like those in Tales or Berseria or Soul Hackers 2 make for great party dynamics. Compared to, say, Dragon Quest…. 😶‍🌫️ I do think DQVII has its charm though, one of the best DQ I’ve played so far

I haven’t always been a big fan of Dragon Quest, I’ve never even finished one DQ completely (finished Act 2 of DQXI and I was done mentally). But so far with DQVII Reimagined I’m cautiously optimistic 👀 it’s a lot of fun! Playing in French once again as I do with DQ to make it more palatable 😌

It irks me that Tokyo Xanadu/Kyoto Xanadu are compared to Persona, when the most adequate comparison in that light is to Trails of Cold Steel. Yes, Trails of Cold Steel took from Persona, but Tokyo Xanadu took directly from Cold Steel and the time management aspect is leagues different from Persona

Ok, I finished Trails Through Daybreak 2 for real this time! Just beat the final boss of the post game and saw the extra scene I had already seen at the beginning of Beyond the Horizon 😅 but now I can start Beyond the Horizon’s chapter 1 with peace of mind! 😌
