Tired hermit still wearing N95. Thankful for dogs. Covid awareness, ADHD, nature.

As many friends on here know, my symptoms have drastically worsened this year. I'm struggling with neuro issues and I’ve $3000 in specialist appts that I need to raise funds for. Any support via my donation link in next post is greatly appreciated.

Had another sensible conversation at work today about covid and masking. That’s at least 3-4 supportive convos. Maybe people are realising it’s a bad thing. Of course I’m still the only masker 😷😐

Nothing makes me feel like a worse human than when I have to drag my very cute dog through the park away from all the other dogs because she’s behaving like a total psychopath. I swear I am trying to do what’s best for her 🤣

My dog likes to prank me. Hides and waits for me to walk past then pounces on my feet growling before prancing around looking pleased with herself. Just scared the absolute bejezus out of me 🤣🤣

It's the sixth covid Christmas, and most people are completely oblivious that it's airborne, that repeat infections cause long term health problems, and that it's still killing people.

Home from candlelight midnight mass, (Anglican variety), blinged up mask obvs, eating hot GF muffins and rhubarb jam, and drinking hot chocolate at 1am. Merry Christmas covid cautious legends 🎄❤️😷😁

Mini break at the beach was a good circuit breaker. Had to avoid a lot of places due to crowds and sick people. I was the only mask freak obvs. But soaked up sunshine, sea air, walked, found excellent gluten free fish and chip shop. Unwound. Got home and dog and I both passed out on couch 🤣

Having some lunch out. Outside good distance. People at next table are waxing lyrical about all their overseas travels. I feel so far removed from any of that kind of life these days.

5 mins of sitting in the garden at the Airbnb with a cool breeze and more relaxed than I have been in six months. I need a garden with a cool breeze.

42°C here today. Hope everyone manages to stay safe. So glad I got the roof insulation in last year. Shade sails up over windows outside. Plants watered. Dog walked. Me and my heat intolerance bunkered down for the day 🥵🔥

Went to bed late at 1am wired from too much working this week. Up at 5am to deal with the doggy diarrhoea 😵💫. Last thing you want in a very fluffy dog. 🤢 Just hope it’s something she ate. Seems ok now.

People are already off with covid after events and the end of year wrap up this year feels way worse than normal. Less empathy. More rudeness. Frenzy of busy work and events that seems unnecessary. Not sure how long I can keep this nonsense going.

There a lot of coughing out there. Running around this morning doing Xmas gift shopping and sounds like every second person has a nasty chesty cough. Xmas covid.

Was using a little piece of cheese as a reward for the doggo for some behaviour training at bedtime. Now she won’t go to bed until she gets the cheese payment. 🤣

I said chronic infection could well be a thing from the start. Evidence? Other coronaviruses… Then the persistent RNA shedding… Then reservoirs of infection being dug up slowly over time…

Being the only masker is hugely exhausting. Everyone I’ve talked to today has been super nice and told me all about how dreadful covid is (but they don’t do anything to avoid it). Even so it’s not easy to go against the social contract.

Not at all helpfully the doggo ripped off a dew claw on Sunday afternoon before I’m meant to fly interstate for two days early Monday morning. Luckily she’s ok and I have the best dog minder but what a palaver it’s been at the vet.
