what happened to us where traffic death is normal and expected and blamed but other death isn’t? why are we not enraged that thousands of people die every year-preventably-on our roads. why isn’t the pursuit of arriving home safe the key to our system? it’s money and power and it’s all made up.

it's unlike me to have a hot as hell take, but we absolutely, unequivocally need to stop conflating "poorly googling" something with "research" about it. if your racist uncle said he "researched" 45s / VP harris' policies ask him what he means and keep asking until you get kicked out of the house.

the problem — a problem — with congestion pricing and the stringy discourse around it is that its ALL TALK. people are just being told “take your medicine” but we—who?—will fix your problems. what problems? where is MTA or DOT improving the streets for buses to demonstrate that we *can* do it?

They’re already screwing up the restart because there’s two different dates floating out there. Does it start December 29 or January 5?

two and more things are true: 1. drivers, despite all the moaning, are not a protected class. 2. congestion pricing, in theory, aims to ALTER BEHAVIOR. what we're seeing is a stress test of inertia. 3. the MTA and partners has not done a good job of selling this policy to anyone, really.
