I hate cancer. I am grateful for life. But, I hate cancer and how my life has had to shift and adjust, and the compromises I’ve had to make since I became aware that it was in my body. Plans and goals have had to change. My body has been changed. My focus has been interrupted. And the emotions!

I cannot express how humbled I am to be participating once again in the GLAAD Down South media event!! And after my follow-up appointment this week, I am also glad to be strong enough to participate! It will be a good time, I’m sure!!

Life is worth living. Even in the midst of chaos. The thing I love most about “us” is that even when it’s hard or seems dire, we will find and create moments of joy and escape. Joy IS a revolutionary act! Lean into it!!

I’m not gonna lie, some of the silence is also hurtful. But, it is what it is. Survival is my focus and my goal.

The silence is hurtful and deafening, while also very telling!

If nothing else, I am FULLY aware that several of my connections and relationships are requiring evaluating and changing as I lean into this journey.

I am playing with the idea of doing a series of weekend getaways to write over the course of the next few months between now and June.

Officials at the FAA have directed staff to identify tens of millions of dollars to fund a Starlink deal for upgrading air traffic control communications. Staff has been instructed to find the funds while minimizing documentation and avoiding a paper trail.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to say this for weeks now and I’m struggling. I am no expert on the economy, the stock market, capitalism and the like, but there is something that keeps circling in my mind on a constant loop that I can’t make much sense out of in this entire grift scheme.

I pray life affords me the ability to live so long that people see me in public and say, or think to themselves, that’s an attractive older gentleman!
