We lost both our girls - Syd (right) and Nancy - within three months - so hard to deal with - but I am sure they would have wanted to appear on #caturday every now and again, as they loved making friends.

It’s 39 years, give or take a couple of weeks, since I packed my suitcase and headed for Sheffield, or the People’s Republic of South Yorkshire, as it is fondly known. I spent a lot of time at The Leadmill, but never got round to making my own. Seems fitting to do it now it has so sadly gone.

Budgie’s memoir is a wonderfully honest and poignant read, all light and shade. Just as you’d expect given his perennially inventive, thoughtful drumming. A real musical hero for me, this chap. Even better on audiobook. He reads with real feeling.

Farewell to Rick Davies. Some of my earliest musical memories were of riding around in my uncle Dave's ridiculous little sports car with either this on Band on the Run on his 8-track cassette. Got a real soft spot for this album - aged six, it sounded utterly amazing to me. Loved Bloody Well Right.
